HelpBird has a built-in MCP server. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client once, and it can answer your customers, keep the help center current and set up the chat for you, with a preview before anything that matters.

Connect in a minute
Pick your assistant.
Every client signs in the same way: a HelpBird page opens, you sign in and click Allow. Nothing to register with Anthropic or OpenAI, no key to copy.
Claude
claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps
1Open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
2Name it HelpBird and paste the server URL: https://helpbird.app/mcp
3Click Connect. A HelpBird page opens: sign in (or create your account) and click Allow.
4Turn HelpBird on from the tools menu of a chat. A connector added on claude.ai also works in the desktop and mobile apps.
ChatGPT
chatgpt.com and the ChatGPT apps
1Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
2Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create.
3Name: HelpBird. MCP server URL: https://helpbird.app/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
4Click Create, sign in to HelpBird and click Allow. Then pick HelpBird from the tools of a new chat.
Claude Code
the terminal and the IDE extensions
1Run the command below (add --scope user to have HelpBird in every project).
2In Claude Code, type /mcp, pick helpbird and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens: sign in and click Allow.
terminal
claude mcp add --transport http helpbird https://helpbird.app/mcp
Cursor
the editor and its agent
1Add HelpBird to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project).
2In Cursor's settings, open the MCP section and click Connect next to helpbird. Sign in to HelpBird, click Allow, and Cursor picks the connection up.
1Add HelpBird to .vscode/mcp.json, or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP and paste the URL.
2Click Start above the server. VS Code asks to sign in: allow it, sign in to HelpBird and click Allow. Then use HelpBird from Copilot Chat in agent mode.
1Add a remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP server with the URL https://helpbird.app/mcp.
2The client signs in with OAuth 2.1 on its own: it discovers the server at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp, registers itself and sends you to HelpBird to sign in and click Allow (PKCE, no secret to copy).
In HelpBird, open Settings → AI agents and create a token. It is shown once; send it as the header Authorization: Bearer hbmcp_…. Keep it out of your repository, and revoke it from the same page when you no longer need it.
“Answer the open conversations about shipping. Show me each reply before you send it.”
“Write help-center articles, as drafts, for the questions customers searched for and didn't find.”
“Set our business hours to 9–6, Monday to Friday, with an away message, and assign anything urgent to Ana.”
“Which conversations missed our first-response target this week, and why?”
“Install the HelpBird chat on this site, then match its colors to our brand.”
Ready-made jobs
The server also offers prompts your client lists (the “/” menu in Claude):
Clear the inbox
clear_inbox
Work through the open conversations, most urgent first: answer, assign, tag, snooze or close each one.
Improve the AI from recent conversations
improve_bot
Find what the AI and the help center couldn't answer lately, and write the articles and prompt changes that would.
Set up a new workspace
setup_workspace
Take a new HelpBird account from zero to live: install, greeting, hours, look, AI knowledge, team and alerts.
Safe by design
Your agent works for you, not for whoever writes in.
You connect it, as you
Only the account owner can connect an app: you sign in to HelpBird and click Allow. The agent then acts as you, within your plan and through the same checks as the admin panel. Teammates can't connect apps.
Reading changes nothing
27 of the 77 tools only read, and say so to your client. Reading a conversation doesn't even mark it read for your team.
A preview before anything that matters
A reply or a campaign to customers, deleting something, sending data outside your account (a webhook, an alert address, a new teammate) or cancelling your plan first comes back as a preview of exactly what would happen. Nothing changes until you say yes.
No money moves
An agent can't pay, bill your card or refund anything. Asked to change your plan, it gives you a link: you review and confirm on your Billing page (or on Shopify). Cards are only entered in the panel.
Revoke any time
Settings → AI agents lists every connected app and token; disconnect one and it stops at once. Changing your password disconnects them all. Access lasts an hour at a time and renews only while the connection is alive.
What data goes where
What the agent reads (conversations, contacts, articles, settings) goes to the AI provider you connected, under its terms. HelpBird never sees your chat with the assistant, only the tool calls it makes. Your customers' messages reach the agent as data, never as instructions. See the privacy policy.
